Castelló d'Empúries - Empuriabrava
Is a medieval town which had its golden age from the 11thC, when the counts of Empúries settled there and the town became the country seat. The magnificent basilica of Santa Maria, the fish market, the curia, the palace of the counts, the clergy and the prison are some of the buildings to visit. Empuriabrava is a residential marina built in 1967 which lies just 2 kilometres from the town. The urban structure, based on a thirty-kilometre-long network of waterways, is surprising.
